Control & Feeder Module

Fully assembled automatic control module, which forms the heart of your rainwater harvesting system. Ideally suited for self install.
The module is delivered fully assembled and ready for installation, saving you time and money.

The pump will draw rainwater from the tank and feed it directly to where it is required (i.e. toilets or washing machine)

Once the rainwater harvesting tank is empty, the control module will automatically feed mains water via an internal 20 ltr balancing tank to where it is required. This ensures that you minimise the amount of mains water used whilst the tank is re-filling.

1. Emergency overflow DN 70.
2.
Flow switch controlled 3-way valve (20m lead) regulates the use of mains water from the integrated balancing tank when needed.
3.
Integrated 20ltr mains water balancing tank.
4.
Stainless steel mounting console.
5.
Powerful and silent rotary pump with automatic control, delivery head 38m (3.8 bar), output 3600ltr/h, motor rating 0.66kW, suction height/-length 3m/12m.
6.
Inlet valve with float tops up the integrated balancing tank with mains water when no rainwater is available.

The need for rainwater harvesting
In todays climate, water is an expensive commodity. As a result of an increase in demand and water reserves continuing to decline, the amount available to us is falling and water charges are continuing to increase year on year.
Our Climate
Climate change is forecast to have a two-fold impact on water resources. It will reduce the amount of water available for public supply and it will increase customer demand for water, particularly in the garden.
The latest predictions also suggest that we can expect warmer winters and drier, hotter summers.
Legislation
New legislation has been introduced by the Government in 2006 to give water companies the right to compulsorily meter all of its customers. This ‘area of water scarcity’ status means the water company will be able to accelerate its plan to switch existing customers over to water meters. Previously, the decision to install a water meter was voluntary, however, with the introduction of this new legislation, customers will soon have no choice.
Currently 40% of UK residents have a water meter installed. However, this legislation is looking to increase this to 90% over the next 10 years to provide an estimated water saving of 10-15%.
The benefits
Up to 50% of the drinking water that is currently used can be safely replaced with rainwater without any loss in convenience.
Rainwater, often referred to as soft water, can be efficiently harvested and used for laundry, flushing toilets, general cleaning and garden irrigation.
Based on future water price projections, a complete rainwater recycling system excluding installation costs, will pay for itself. In addition, rainwater recycling projects can often be eligible for financial support from local municipalities.
Help save the environment
Rainwater harvesting makes ecological sense. In this situation instead of the rainwater requiring immediate percolation, the rainwater is retained in the property. This eases pressure on the municipal drainage system.
Surface water can be collected and stored during times of high rainfall, and released to soakaway at a controlled rate, reducing the risk of flooding.
