Field Service Engineer further detailsJob Title: Field Service Engineer Location: Nationwide (core area: Derbys , Notts, Lincs, Staffs) Head Office Heanor Derbyshire Responsible To: Service Manager/Senior Engineer Responsible For: Customer, colleagues and site safety and occasionally responsible for contractors. Main Responsibility Service, Maintenance and Repair of Electrical and Mechanical Sewage Treatment Plants and Pumping Stations. Responsibilities & Duties 1. Treat customers with due respect, answer queries, offer advice. 2. Preparation for servicing, including: Checking plant/materials/vehicle. 3. Undertake standard services to specified procedure. 4. Survey site, assess problems and causes, and provide solution. 5. Undertake necessary repairs to units as appropriate or seek advice. 6. Answer callouts and follow above. 7. Complete service sheets and return to Administration within 7 days. 8. General site maintenance, labouring, ensuring workshop tidy. 9. Strip and rebuild motors, gearboxes and pumps. 10. Adhere to Health & Safety procedures at all times regarding self, colleagues, sub-contractors and customers. 11. Pass sales leads to Service Manager/Senior Engineer. 12. Responsible for correct use and cleanliness of: • Equipment, vehicles and workshop – specifying faults to Senior Engineer. Where specific vehicle or tools are allocated for individual use there will be a responsibility to keep this vehicle and tools clean and in good working order. 13. Occasional responsibility for additional labour on site. 14. Any other duties as required. Working Conditions • Standard 40-hour working week over 5½ days. • Overtime Requirement (typically 10 hours per week) This does not affect individual rights under Working Time Regulations • Considerable Travel • Site / Outdoor Work / Poor Weather Conditions • Working Independently • Unsociable hours and on-call requirement (Ratio of 1:3 covering 365 days per year) • Occasional overnight stopovers. Other Information • May be a requirement to occasionally be involved in installation work which would involve teamwork. • Standby on-call allowance payable for which employee must be available and fit for work. |
