Drainstore.com working with our client Conder was selected by Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd to design, supply and commission two above ground sewage treatment plants complete with raw sewage feed pumping station, platforms and access ladders.

The plants were needed to service office and welfare facilities on the site. As it was a temporary installation, the above ground SAF was preferred to a below ground, buried one.

The first pumping station and SAF plant was commissioned in April 2011, with the second in January 2012. The pumping stations collect the sewage from the office and welfare building which is then pumped to the ground SAF plants for treatment before being discharged to sea.
